Mary Schenck, born in 1756, was twice widowed when she married her third husband, Captain Elijah Dewey, proprietor of Dewey's Inn, (now the Walloomsac Inn, still located in Old Bennington), in 1792. She died in 1820 only two years after the death of Captain Dewey. |
